I don't want to alarm anybody, but it seems like we (for values of 'we' = the US government) just quietly saved the Philippines from food riots. Y'see, the price of rice has doubled in the last year, and rice exporting countries are beginning to, er, stop exporting, so as to feed their own people. Yesterday, I had a sandwich.

Today, I had Cheng Hing, with a side order of humble pie.

Thursday, I will have yummy Eritrean food (for the second time in a month! It will so make up for yesterday!)

Yesterday, I went into Philly to pick up moyashi and a bulk pack of instant ramen at Asia Supermarket. I had lunch in Market East Station, not realizing that Reading Terminal Market was holding extended hours to get spillover crowds from the Philadelphia Flower Show.
